In July 2018, my wife and I were having a drink in a bar on the Greek island of Kefalonia. We'd spent the morning wandering around the ruins of a local Roman Villa and I was busy telling her all the facts and stories I'd read about the area. In what I assume was a desperate attempt to stop me throwing historical facts at her all afternoon, she suggested I start writing them down. Just like that, The Bearded History Geek began. I started sharing my own photos and stories on Instagram and have found myself in an amazing community of online history fans. I'm by no means an expert, but I look forward to sharing some of my favourite places with you and some stories I've heard along the way.
